Arcads AI review with Arcads reviews, real cost per ad and the terms to read first

The short answer

Arcads is an AI actor video ad tool run by a French company founded in 2024, which announced a $16M seed round in December 2025. On 12 October 2026 it shows no plan prices anywhere on its site, and third-party captures report Starter at about $110 a month and Creator at about $220. What Arcads does publish is the meter: 800 credits per actor minute with length always rounded up, 8,000 credits a month on Starter and 16,000 on Creator, with no rollover on either. At the reported Starter price a talking ad of any length up to 60 seconds costs about $11. The trial is 72 hours and 1,000 credits with a card on file, and it converts to Starter automatically. Trustpilot is 2.6 from 183 reviews, 47.5 percent one-star and 42 percent five-star. The video licence is non-exclusive, personal and non-transferable.

People searching for an Arcads review have usually seen the ads. The actors look real, the lip sync holds, and a competitor is probably already running them. So the open questions are practical ones: what does it cost when the pricing page does not exist, why do the reviews split so sharply between love and fury, and what are you allowed to do with the videos once you have paid?

This review answers those with material read on 12 October 2026: Arcads' homepage, all 52 articles in its help centre, its terms (marked as in force 08/10/2026, which we read as 8 October 2026), its public API specification, its funding announcement and the 60 most recent Trustpilot reviews. Where Arcads publishes nothing we say so, and where we quote a dollar figure from a third party we label it as reported, not verified.

One note on what we are: AdsGen writes UGC ad scripts from a product URL and renders the ones you pick as vertical video ads, so we compete with Arcads for some buyers. For high-volume talking-actor production Arcads is the stronger product, and the section on where it wins says so.

Our verdict

2.9/5

Worth it for a team that ships talking-actor ads every week and reads the contract. A poor fit for occasional users, short clips and agencies that hand videos to clients.

Arcads makes some of the most believable talking-actor ads on the market, from a library it puts at more than 1,000 actors who are real people, paid and consenting. The trouble is everything around the output. Arcads publishes no dollar prices (its pricing page returns a 404), bills 800 credits per actor minute and rounds every clip up to a full minute, requires 72 hours of notice to cancel, and licenses the finished video as personal and non-transferable. Trustpilot shows 2.6 from 183 reviews, and more reviewers gave it one star (87) than five (77). Buy it if you produce talking ads in volume and can absorb those rules. Do not buy it to make a handful of 15-second clips.

How Arcads scores, category by category

Actor realism and output

4.4

The reason people pay. Actors are based on real, paid people, lip sync is strong, and three talking models cover scripted, audio-driven and expressive delivery. Reviewers who complain about quality mostly mention blur and odd gestures on product shots.

Ad workflow and tooling

4.0

Workflows, an agent, hook repurposing, translation, captions, b-roll from Veo, Kling and Seedance, publishing to TikTok and X, a public API with 74 paths and an MCP server.

Value for money

2.6

About $11 per talking ad at the reported Starter price, whatever its length, because every clip is rounded up to a minute. Fair for 45 to 60-second ads, expensive for 15-second hooks.

Pricing clarity

1.5

No dollar price on the site, a pricing URL that returns 404, an unpublished overage rate and credit costs for the newest models marked "see the app".

Billing and refunds

2.3

Cancel at least 72 hours before renewal or pay for another period. Refunds need zero credits used within 30 days. The trial bills Starter automatically after 72 hours.

Rights and terms

2.2

A personal, non-transferable licence on the video, a EUR 500,000 indemnity clause per breach, a right for Arcads to train on your scripts and uploads, French law and Paris courts.

The numbers

What an Arcads talking ad costs by length

Ad length Credits billed Cost per render Cost per usable ad
15 seconds 800 About $11 About $33
30 seconds 800 About $11 About $33
60 seconds 800 About $11 About $33
61 to 120 seconds 1,600 About $22 About $66
105 seconds, two actors 3,200 About $44 About $132

From the published rate of 800 credits per actor minute with length always rounded up, at the reported Starter price of about $110 for 8,000 credits. Usable cost assumes one take in three is good enough to run.

Performance marketer comparing several vertical talking-actor video ads on two phones at a desk with product samples

Arcads rents you real-looking AI actors and a studio of video models, metered in credits per rounded-up minute on plans whose prices it does not publish. AdsGen writes a batch of UGC ad scripts from a product URL and renders the ones you pick as vertical presenter ads, on published plans with a set number of script batches and renders a month.

What each one costs

Arcads does not publish prices. On 12 October 2026 its pricing URL returned a 404 on both the marketing site and the app, the homepage carried no plan prices, and the app loads them only after login. Its terms say prices are in USD with tax added at checkout. A competitor capture dated 24 August 2026 lists Starter at $110, Creator at $220 and Pro at $550 with 48,000 credits, plus a limited 30 percent promotion and a $29 Lite plan without talking actors; we could not verify any of those figures at source, though the 48,000-credit Pro plan matches an example in Arcads' own API specification. What Arcads does publish: Starter has 8,000 credits a month and Creator 16,000, neither rolls over, and a talking actor costs 800 credits per minute per actor, always rounded up. AdsGen plans are $99, $199, $499 and $998 a month, or from $49 billed yearly, each with a set number of script batches and rendered videos a month.

Pricing and features are taken from each product's own site and change often, so check the latest before you buy.

In depth

The Arcads review in full

Is Arcads worth it? Yes for weekly talking ads, no for short clips

Arcads is worth paying for when talking-actor ads are a standing line in your creative plan. The actors are its real advantage. Arcads says its library of more than 1,000 is built from real people who consented and are paid, and it shows: faces hold up in a feed in a way that fully synthetic avatars often do not. Five-star reviewers describe exactly that use, a media buyer producing dozens of Meta ad variations a week and judging them on click-through.

The arithmetic favours long ads. A talking actor costs 800 credits a minute and Arcads' credits article says length is always rounded up. On the reported $110 Starter plan with 8,000 credits that is ten renders a month at about $11 each, whether the ad runs 12 seconds or 60. If only one take in three is good enough to run, a usable ad costs about $33 and Starter yields three or four of them a month.

So a team shipping 45 to 60-second direct response ads gets a fair price. A team testing 15-second hooks pays for 45 seconds of air on every clip, and that is the pattern behind the one-star reviewer who watched the trial credits disappear "after 2 short 10 second videos". Our Arcads AI pricing breakdown walks through the cost per video in more detail.

Why Arcads reviews are split between one star and five

Arcads holds 2.6 on Trustpilot from 183 reviews, and the average hides the shape: 87 one-star reviews against 77 five-star, with only 19 in between. More customers gave it the worst score than the best. In the 60 most recent reviews, covering late April to early October 2026, the split is 38 to 17.

The two groups are describing different things. The five-star reviews are about output and help: fast answers from a named support agent, ad volume, and using the API or the MCP connection with an AI assistant. The one-star reviews are about money. Across the 38 we read, 21 mention price or credits burning faster than expected, 15 say support went silent or only a bot replied, 14 complain about quality, and 13 say they were charged after cancelling or could not get a refund. None of the 60 recent reviews had a public reply from the company.

Read together, that is a product that works for people who use it heavily and understand the meter, and hurts people who sign up to try it. One reviewer in May 2026 wrote that they were offered credits in exchange for a Trustpilot review. We could not verify that claim, and 12 of the 60 recent reviews are marked as invited.

The 72-hour rules that cause most billing complaints

Two deadlines explain most of the anger, and both are 72 hours.

The first is the trial. Arcads gives 1,000 credits and exactly 72 hours from sign-up, with a card on file. If you do not cancel in that window, the card is charged for Starter automatically. If you use up the credits early, which one talking video and a few extras will do, a plan screen appears and choosing a plan charges the card at once. Cancelling during the trial cuts access immediately.

The second is cancellation. The terms require a subscription to be terminated no later than 72 hours before the end of the current period, and say any period that has started is due in full. Cancel two days before renewal and you have bought another month.

Refunds are narrow. The help centre offers a full refund only if zero generation credits were used in the period and the request arrives within 30 days of the charge, plus a 24-hour change-of-mind refund once per account. Poor output quality does not qualify for credits back. Charges appear on a statement under the parent company's name, not Arcads, which some reviewers did not recognise. Set a calendar reminder four days before any renewal.

What the Arcads licence lets you do with a video

This is the part most reviews skip, and for an agency it matters more than the price. The terms grant "a non-exclusive, personal and non-transferable license on the Video", and state that an exclusive licence cannot be granted because of the use of artificial intelligence. The licence is worldwide and covers distribution and marketing, so running the ad on your own brand's accounts is plainly allowed.

The limits are specific. Permitted edits are listed: cropping, music, text, subtitles, emoji, b-roll, GIFs, sound effects, format changes and your logo. You may not use the video as input to other AI or software that modifies the image, voice or speech, which rules out running an Arcads actor through a separate lip-sync or face tool. Breach carries a lump-sum indemnity of EUR 500,000 per breach after written notice and 30 days to cure, and if an actor withdraws consent you must delete the videos on request.

A non-transferable licence is awkward for anyone producing ads for clients, because the client is the one who needs the right to run them. If you are an agency, get the position in writing from Arcads before you sell the work. The terms also give Arcads the right to train its models on your scripts, prompts and uploads, apply French law with disputes in Paris, cap liability at twelve months of fees and treat every customer as a professional, not a consumer.

Where Arcads contradicts itself

Arcads' terms and its help centre disagree on several points that affect a budget, so settle them with support before you commit.

API access: the terms say the API is only available on a Customized offer, while the help centre describes generating credentials yourself in settings. Rollover and overage: the terms say Standard-offer clients must wait for renewal when credits run out and that unused credits are lost, while the help centre says Pro, Scale and Business credits roll over and Pro is billed per extra credit, at a rate it does not publish. Buying Pro: the trial article lets you pick Pro at the paywall, another article tells you to email a named salesperson. Languages: the homepage says more than 30, the FAQ says 35, and translation is quoted at more than 130.

One help article even says talking actors cost 1 credit per minute where the credits article says 800. The live help centre address fails to load securely at the time of writing, though the same articles are reachable through its hosting provider. None of this is unusual for a company growing this fast. Our Arcads API page covers the API question in full.

Where Arcads beats us outright, and you should buy it instead

If you need talking-actor ads in volume, buy Arcads. Ten renders a month on its entry plan and sixty on Pro is a different scale from the fixed handful of renders on our plans.

If you need a specific kind of face, buy Arcads. A library of more than 1,000 actors based on real people, searchable by age and look, is something we do not have. Our presenters are generated.

If you need languages, formats or footage beyond a presenter, Arcads does 35 languages for talking actors, translation into many more, square and landscape output, and b-roll from Veo, Kling and Seedance in the same studio. We make 9:16 English ads only.

If you want to drive production from code or an AI assistant, Arcads has a public API and an MCP server today. Our API is on the Enterprise plan.

The comparison turns on what is actually slowing you down. If it is the supply of rendered actors, Arcads solves that. If it is knowing which hook and angle to put in the actor's mouth, more renders at $11 each is an expensive way to find out. For side by side detail see Arcads vs Creatify and Arcads vs HeyGen.

What AdsGen does instead, including what it will not do

You paste a product URL. We read the page for the product, its claims and its images, and write a batch of up to 20 UGC-style scripts across six angles, each with its own hook. You pick the scripts worth filming and we render them as 720p vertical videos with AI presenters and burned-in captions, ready to upload to TikTok, Meta or Shorts. Prices are on the pricing page: Starter is $99 a month or $49 billed yearly for 4 script batches and 1 rendered video a month, up to Enterprise with 120 batches and 12 renders. There is no credit meter and no rounding, and you see scripts for your own product in the demo before paying.

The limits, stated before you sign up. Renders are a small fixed number each month, so we do not suit a team that needs dozens of finished videos; Arcads does. Presenters are generated, so they are not customers and must never be presented as testimonials. Output is 9:16 only, in English, with captions burned in. It works from a product URL, so a thin product page gives the model less to work with. API access is on the Enterprise plan only.

Some teams run both: AdsGen to find the angles and hooks worth paying for, Arcads to render the winners with a real-looking actor. The Arcads alternative page compares the two directly.

Why teams pick AdsGen

The full UGC video ad, end to end

Prices you can read before you sign up

Arcads shows its prices after you create an account. AdsGen lists every plan, monthly and yearly, on a public pricing page.

No meter that rounds up

Arcads bills 800 credits for any talking clip up to a minute. AdsGen plans carry a set number of script batches and renders, so a 15-second ad never costs you a full minute.

Find the hook before you pay to render it

AdsGen writes up to 20 script variations per batch across six angles from your product page. The demo runs on your own URL with no card.

Good questions

Arcads, answered

Yes. Arcads is a real product from a French company founded in 2024 that announced a $16M seed round in December 2025, and its actors are based on paid, consenting people. The complaints on Trustpilot, where it scores 2.6 from 183 reviews, are mostly about billing rules and credit use, not about the product failing to exist or deliver video.
It is worth it if you publish talking-actor ads every week and they run 30 to 60 seconds. At the reported Starter price a render costs about $11 at any length up to a minute. It is poor value for 15-second clips, for occasional use, and for agencies that need to transfer the video licence to a client.
Arcads publishes no prices; its pricing page returns a 404. Third-party captures from August 2026 report Starter at about $110 a month for 8,000 credits, Creator at about $220 for 16,000 and Pro at about $550 for 48,000. Arcads itself confirms the credit amounts and the rate of 800 credits per actor minute, rounded up.
They are split. Of 183 Trustpilot reviews, 87 are one-star and 77 are five-star. Happy reviewers praise actor realism, ad volume and support. Unhappy reviewers describe credits burning quickly, charges after cancelling, slow or automated support and refunds refused. Product Hunt shows 4.7, from only 3 reviews.
There is a 72-hour trial with 1,000 credits, and it needs a card. If you do not cancel within 72 hours of signing up, the card is charged for the Starter plan automatically. If the credits run out sooner, a plan screen appears and picking a plan charges you immediately.
Cancel from your workspace through the support tools at least 72 hours before the current period ends. The terms say a period that has started is due in full, so a cancellation made inside the last three days still pays for the next period. Keep proof of the request.
Only in narrow cases. The help centre refunds a charge in full if you used zero generation credits in that period and ask within 30 days. There is also a one-time 24-hour change-of-mind refund with no credits used. Poor output quality is not grounds for a refund or for credits back.
Check before you do. The terms grant a non-exclusive, personal and non-transferable licence on each video, which covers running it for your own brand worldwide. An agency delivering videos to a client should get written confirmation from Arcads, because a non-transferable licence does not obviously pass to the client.
They are AI versions of real people. Arcads says its 1,000-plus actors are based on real actors who gave consent and are paid. If an actor later withdraws, the terms require you to delete videos featuring them on request. You can also clone yourself on the Pro plan for 1,600 credits a video.
It depends on the gap. For cheaper avatar rendering with published prices, Creatify and HeyGen are the usual swaps. If your problem is what the ad should say, AdsGen writes up to 20 UGC ad scripts from a product URL and renders the ones you pick as 9:16 presenter ads, with every price public.
