Zeely alternative: the Zeely alternatives for UGC video ads without a cut of your ad budget

The short answer

Zeely is a mobile-first AI ad app for small sellers that makes video and static ads and can launch Facebook and Instagram campaigns for you. Read at source in September 2026, its website plans are Starter at $29.95 a month for 2,500 credits, Plus at $49.95 for 5,000 and Growth at $79.95 for 10,000, shown against crossed-out prices of $49.95, $89.95 and $149.95, and Zeely can charge up to 12% of your ad budget when it runs the campaign. AdsGen is the alternative for brands and marketers who run their own ad accounts: paste a product URL, get a batch of finished 9:16 UGC video ads with hooks and burned-in captions on a published plan from $82 a month, and keep your whole media budget in your own account.

People looking for a Zeely alternative are usually not unhappy with how quickly Zeely makes an ad. They are unhappy with what the ad ends up costing. Zeely bundles two products into one subscription: an AI creative generator and a campaign launcher that places your Facebook and Instagram ads for you. The second part is useful if you have never opened Ads Manager, and it is where most of the cost hides, because Zeely can take up to 12% of the ad budget it manages on top of the plan.

This page lays out what Zeely charges today, read from its pricing page, its Subscription and Refund Policy, its own cost guide and its App Store listing in September 2026, and where AdsGen is and is not the better buy. AdsGen is our product, so we have kept the rows where Zeely wins in the table and given them their own section below.

What each one costs

Zeely's prices were read at source in September 2026. The website shows three monthly plans with no free column: Starter at $29.95 a month for 2,500 credits (crossed out at $49.95), Plus at $49.95 for 5,000 credits (crossed out at $89.95) and Growth, badged most popular, at $79.95 for 10,000 credits (crossed out at $149.95). All three list the same twelve features. The cards do not say which figure renews; Zeely's Subscription and Refund Policy says a discounted first cycle continues at the standard rate for the option you selected. Running Facebook and Instagram ads through Zeely carries a fee of up to 12%, which Zeely's own cost guide ties to your Meta ad budget and cuts to 6% with a $39.95 a year Booster. The iPhone app sells a separate list, including a 1-Week Plan at $19.99, a 1 Year Plan at $199.99 and 100 credits for $9.99. AdsGen plans start at $82 a month, are counted in finished ads rather than credits, and never take a percentage of your ad spend.

Pricing and features are taken from each product's own site and change often, so check the latest before you buy.

In depth

Where each tool actually wins

Up to 12% of your ad budget is the cost that keeps growing

Zeely's subscription pays for the tools. Its pricing FAQ says running Facebook and Instagram ads through the app involves additional charges, "with Zeely potentially charging up to 12%", and Zeely's own 2026 cost guide spells the fee out as 12% of your Meta ad budget, or 6% if you add Booster at $39.95 a year. Its terms add that payments connected to advertising campaigns are generally non-refundable.

A flat subscription and a percentage fee behave very differently as you grow. At about $666 a month in ad spend, a 12% fee equals the whole $79.95 Growth plan. At $1,000 it is $120, and at $2,000 it is $240, three times the plan. Zeely's own worked example puts a Growth month with $2,000 of spend at $2,319.95 all in.

The same guide says Booster "usually pays for itself in the first month" once your budget is over $500. It does not quite: six points of $500 is $30, less than the $39.95 Booster costs, so the single-month break-even is about $666 of spend. None of this applies to AdsGen, because we make the ads and you launch them in your own ad account. There is no budget for us to take a share of.

Every Zeely plan has the same features, so you are buying credits you cannot convert into ads

Zeely's three cards list an identical set of twelve features: marketing video ads, edit-ready templates, paid campaigns, viral campaigns, talking reels, prompt to ad, brand-inspired remix, batch static ads, avatar customization, an AI image enhancer, early feature access and priority support. The only difference between Starter, Plus and Growth is 2,500, 5,000 or 10,000 credits.

So cost per credit is the entire decision. At the prices shown it is $11.98 per 1,000 credits on Starter, $9.99 on Plus and $8.00 on Growth; at the crossed-out prices it is $19.98, $17.99 and $15.00. The number you actually need, how many credits a finished video ad consumes, is not published anywhere we could find, so none of those allowances can be turned into a count of ads before you pay.

Zeely's terms also say credits have no cash value and that the company may "modify, cancel, restrict, terminate, or eliminate Credits at any time". That is standard protective language, but combined with an unpublished burn rate it means the allowance you are buying is a moving target. AdsGen plans are counted in finished ads, so what a month buys is known before you subscribe.

The price on Zeely's card and the price that renews are not the same promise

Every Zeely card shows two numbers: $29.95 next to a crossed-out $49.95, $49.95 next to $89.95, and $79.95 next to $149.95. That is a 40.0%, 44.5% and 46.7% discount. What the card does not say is which number you pay after the first cycle. Zeely's Subscription and Refund Policy covers it in section 1.6: some plans carry a discounted rate for the initial billing cycle, and once that promotional period ends, "your subscription will continue at the standard rate for the option you selected."

Budgeted on the crossed-out rate, a year of Starter is $599.40 rather than $359.40, and a year of Growth is $1,799.40 rather than $959.40. The same pricing page also contradicts itself in its FAQ, which says plans start "at $19.99 per month" and come in "monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, and weekly" durations, while every card on the page is monthly and none costs $19.99.

The model has also changed recently. Zeely's own cost guide from February 2026 still describes 2-week, 4-week and 8-week paid trials at $19.95, $29.95 and $49.95 rolling into $79.95 a month, and many comparison pages still quote those figures. The live page no longer shows them.

The App Store sells a different Zeely at a different price

Each website card is marked "Available only on the site", and Zeely's FAQ says plans in the app and on the website may vary. They do. The US App Store listing sells a 1-Week Plan at $19.99, a 2-Month Plan at $85.99, a 3-Month Plan at $119.99, a 1 Year Plan at $199.99 and a 100 Credits pack at $9.99.

The credit pack is where the spread shows. $9.99 for 100 credits is almost 10 cents a credit; Growth's 10,000 credits for $79.95 on the web is 0.8 cents, roughly twelve times cheaper. Where you subscribe also changes who you deal with: Zeely's policy says App Store subscriptions are managed by Apple and that Zeely cannot assist with cancelling or refunding them, and that uninstalling the app does not cancel anything.

For a business buyer, two price lists for one product is a procurement headache in its own right. AdsGen sells one set of plans, on the web, with the same price for everyone.

What 3,796 Trustpilot reviews and 22,059 App Store ratings say about Zeely

Zeely scores well on the averages: a 4.3 TrustScore on Trustpilot from 3,796 reviews and 4.6 stars from 22,059 ratings on the US App Store. Trustpilot shows 64% five-star reviews, and the company replies to 99% of negative ones, typically within a day. It is a legitimate company, Zeely, Inc., with a registered address in Wilmington, Delaware.

The 13% of Trustpilot reviews that are one-star, roughly 490 of them, tell a consistent story. The recurring themes in recent ones are charges after a low-priced starting offer, not finding an easy way to unsubscribe on the website, charges after the reviewer thought the account was closed, and creative that viewers recognize as AI. Almost every billing complaint maps onto a clause in Zeely's own policy: the promotional period rolling into the standard rate, charging retries after a failed payment, and the rule that payments are non-refundable except under certain US state laws or at Zeely's discretion within 120 days of a card payment.

The positive reviews are real too. People like how fast a first ad appears and that they did not need a designer. That split is the clearest guide to who should buy it, which is the next section.

Where Zeely beats us outright, and you should buy it instead

Buy Zeely if you have never run paid social and want an app to do it for you. Its campaign launcher places and monitors Facebook and Instagram ads from your phone, and for a first-time seller that hand-holding is worth the fee. AdsGen does not launch campaigns at all: you download the ads and run them in your own ad account.

Buy Zeely if you need static image ads. It makes batch static ads alongside video, and AdsGen is video only. And if your product has no web page yet, Zeely works from product photos, while AdsGen needs a product URL to read from; a thin product page also gives our model less to write with, and the copy comes out thinner.

Buy AdsGen if you already buy media yourself and your bottleneck is creative. You get native 9:16 UGC video ads with the angle, spoken hook and burned-in captions written for you, several angles per product URL, on a plan counted in finished ads with no percentage of your budget taken. Our presenters are AI-generated, and like any AI ad tool, they must never be passed off as a real customer's testimonial.

Why teams pick AdsGen

The full UGC video ad, end to end

Your ad budget stays yours

Zeely can take up to 12% of the ad budget it manages. AdsGen never touches your ad account, so every dollar of media spend goes to the platform and none of it to a percentage fee.

Priced in finished ads

Zeely sells 2,500 to 10,000 credits with no published cost per video ad. AdsGen plans start at $82 a month and are counted in finished ads, so you know what a month buys before you subscribe.

Angles written, not templated

Paste a product URL and AdsGen picks the angle, writes the spoken hook, casts a creator who reads as a real person filming on a phone, and returns 9:16 ads with captions burned in.

Good questions

Zeely vs AdsGen, answered

It depends which half of Zeely you want to replace. If you want an app that also launches campaigns, Creatify is the closest match, with an AI media buyer and published monthly plans. If you already run your own ads and need creative, AdsGen turns a product URL into finished 9:16 UGC video ads with hooks and captions, with no fee on ad spend.
Read in September 2026, Zeely's website shows Starter at $29.95 a month for 2,500 credits, Plus at $49.95 for 5,000 and Growth at $79.95 for 10,000, against crossed-out prices of $49.95, $89.95 and $149.95. Every plan has the same features. Zeely's policy says a discounted first cycle continues at the standard rate, so budget on the higher figure.
Yes, when Zeely runs your campaigns. Its pricing FAQ says running Facebook and Instagram ads through the app carries additional charges of up to 12%, and its cost guide says a $39.95 a year Booster cuts that to 6%. Above about $666 a month of spend, the 12% fee costs more than the $79.95 Growth plan.
Yes. Zeely, Inc. lists a registered address in Wilmington, Delaware, publishes its terms and refund policy, and holds 4.3 on Trustpilot from 3,796 reviews and 4.6 on the US App Store from 22,059 ratings. The one-star reviews are mostly about billing and cancellation, so read the promotional-period and refund clauses before you subscribe.
Not by default. Zeely's Subscription and Refund Policy says payments are non-refundable except where required by law, and cancelling does not refund the current period. Exceptions are Legal Refunds in certain US states and discretionary Optional Refunds, requested within 120 days of a card payment or 180 days of a PayPal payment. App Store purchases are refunded through Apple.
Zeely does not publish it. Its plans list 2,500, 5,000 or 10,000 credits and identical features, but no cost per finished video ad, so you cannot convert an allowance into a number of ads before paying. Its terms also let Zeely modify or eliminate credits at any time. AdsGen plans are counted in finished ads instead.
Yes. Creatify and AdsGen both start from a product URL. Creatify is a broader suite with templates, an AI media buyer and agency seats. AdsGen is narrower: it reads the product page, picks the ad angle, writes the hook and returns vertical UGC video ads with captions. Zeely itself also accepts product photos, which neither of the others relies on.
On the sticker, yes: Zeely Starter shows $29.95 a month against AdsGen from $82. The gap narrows once you use Zeely's crossed-out $49.95 standard rate and add its fee of up to 12% on the ad spend it manages. At $500 a month of spend, Zeely Starter plus the fee is about $110 a month, and the fee rises with every dollar you scale.
Yes, from your account's subscription settings on the web or by emailing support, and access continues to the end of the period without a refund. If you subscribed through the App Store you must cancel through Apple. Uninstalling the app does not cancel. To avoid the standard rate, cancel before the promotional period ends.
