InVideo alternative: an InVideo AI alternative that turns a product URL into UGC video ads

The short answer

The best InVideo alternative depends on what you were using InVideo for. If you make many kinds of video, from YouTube explainers to landscape brand clips, InVideo on annual Max is hard to beat on price and you should probably stay. If you bought it to make paid social ads, the problem is the meter: every monthly plan above the $20 Starter costs exactly 3 cents a credit, 30 seconds of Seedance 2.0 Fast footage is about 180 credits (roughly $5.40 on monthly Plus) before voice and lip sync, credits expire monthly, and InVideo can change credit costs without notice. AdsGen is the narrower alternative: paste a product URL and get a batch of finished 9:16 UGC ads with hooks and captions, on plans from $82 a month that are not counted in credits.

People looking for an InVideo AI alternative usually fall into one of two groups. The first likes InVideo and wants something cheaper or with fewer surprises on the bill. The second bought InVideo to make ads, found themselves prompting a general video agent into producing something that looks like a TikTok creator talking about their product, and are now wondering whether a tool built for that one job would be faster.

This page is mostly for the second group, and we are honest about the first. AdsGen is our product. It does one thing InVideo also does, turning a product link into a UGC-style video ad, and a long list of things InVideo does that we do not. Every InVideo figure below comes from its own pricing page, help centre and terms, read on 22 September 2026, and our full InVideo AI review, linked further down, shows the working.

What each one costs

InVideo replaced its whole plan lineup this summer. Read on its pricing page on 22 September 2026, it sells Starter at $20 a month for 400 credits, Plus at $60 for 2,000, Max at $150 for 5,000, and Max 2x and Max 3x at $300 and $450. Annual billing takes 17 percent off Plus, 33 percent off Max and Max 2x and 39 percent off Max 3x, and nothing off Starter. Team seats are $79 each for 1,600 credits and Scale seats $215 for 4,000, which is more per credit than Plus. Credits pay each AI model at its own API rate, unused credits do not roll over, and refunds apply only within 7 days and only if no credits were used. AdsGen starts at $82 a month, with yearly billing worth two months free, and is not metered in credits.

Pricing and features are taken from each product's own site and change often, so check the latest before you buy.

In depth

Where each tool actually wins

What an ad costs on InVideo, worked out from its own rates

InVideo does not sell videos, it sells credits, and since the relaunch every monthly plan above Starter prices them identically: $60 for 2,000 on Plus, $150 for 5,000 on Max, $450 for 15,000 on Max 3x. That is 3.0 cents a credit on each, so a bigger plan buys more volume, not a better rate. Only annual billing lowers it, to 2.01 cents on Max.

The credits then pay each model at its own API price. At the published Seedance rates, 30 seconds of generated footage is about 180 credits on 2.0 Fast at 720p, 228 at 1080p and 300 on Seedance 2.5, or $5.40, $6.84 and $9.00 on monthly Plus. Voice, lip sync, agent reasoning and images come on top. Nobody ships the first render of an ad, so multiply by the three to five attempts a usable one takes. The full ladder is in our InVideo pricing breakdown.

The three clauses that push ad teams to look elsewhere

The first is in the pricing FAQ: InVideo reserves the right to update credit costs at any time, without prior notice. For a creator that is a nuisance. For an agency quoting a client a monthly creative fee, it means the cost of the job can move after the quote goes out.

The second is that unused credits do not roll over. A plan sized for your launch month wastes money in a quiet one, and cancelling drops the account to Free at the end of the cycle, when paid credits expire. The third is the refund rule: fees are refundable only within 7 days, and only if you have used no credits or premium features. Generating a single test clip ends the right, so the only way to evaluate the product also removes the refund.

Where InVideo is the better buy, and you should stay

If ads are one job among many, InVideo is good value and we would not move you. It makes landscape YouTube videos, explainers, faceless shorts and narrated clips from a prompt in minutes, which is why 27,690 App Store users rate the app 4.55. Annual Max at 2.01 cents a credit is among the cheapest credit prices we have checked in this category, and its terms give you ownership of your outputs with a perpetual commercial licence that survives cancellation, which is better than several ad-specific tools.

InVideo also has a UGC ads agent now. It reads a product or app link, casts a creator from your description, shows each shot as a still for approval and then animates it with voice and lip sync. If you want that level of shot control and already pay for InVideo, try it before you buy anything else.

Where AdsGen is the better buy

Buy AdsGen if the job is paid social creative and the bottleneck is volume. You paste a product URL, we read the page, write the hooks and angles, cast the presenters and return a batch of finished vertical ads with captions burned in, up to 20 variations across 6 angles per product. There is no shot-by-shot approval step, because the point is to put ten hooks into Ads Manager and let the data pick. The plan is counted in ads, not credits, so a test round costs the same next month as this month.

Our limits are real and you should know them. Output is 9:16 only, with no landscape and no editor. We do not generate cinematic B-roll or long-form video. A thin product page gives the model less to work with. And the presenters are generated, so they are not testimonials and should not be presented as customers.

Other InVideo alternatives worth a look

If you left InVideo for avatars, compare it with HeyGen, which rolls unused credits over one month where InVideo does not; our InVideo vs HeyGen page has both meters side by side. If you need training or internal video rather than ads, Synthesia meters finished minutes instead of credits, covered in InVideo vs Synthesia. If you want an ad platform with a launcher and competitor tracker built in, see Creatify vs InVideo.

Our honest shortlist for an ad team is three columns: stay on annual InVideo if you make many formats, pick an avatar tool if you script everything yourself, and pick AdsGen if you want the concept written for you and a batch back from a single link.

Why teams pick AdsGen

The full UGC video ad, end to end

A batch, not a prompt session

InVideo gives you an agent to direct. AdsGen returns a batch of finished ads from one product URL, with different hooks and angles already written, so a test round takes minutes rather than an afternoon of prompting.

A plan you can quote a client

No credit meter, no per-model API rates and no credit costs that can change mid-month. You pay a plan price and generate ads, which makes the monthly number easy to put in a proposal.

Built only for paid social

Native 9:16 with burned-in captions and presenters that read like creators filming on a phone. It does less than InVideo on purpose, and the files are ready to upload to Meta, TikTok, Reels and Shorts.

Good questions

InVideo vs AdsGen, answered

For paid social ads, a tool built for UGC-style ads is usually faster than a general video agent. AdsGen turns a product URL into a batch of finished 9:16 ads with hooks and captions from $82 a month. Creatify and HeyGen are strong alternatives if you want an ad launcher or a large avatar library.
Nothing is better at everything InVideo does, which is why it suits creators who make many formats. For one job at a time there are better fits: HeyGen for scripted avatars, Synthesia for training video billed in minutes, and AdsGen for UGC ad batches from a product link.
Yes on annual Max if you make many kinds of video, at about 2 cents a credit. It is harder to justify as an ad factory: monthly credits cost 3 cents above Starter, 30 seconds of footage is roughly 180 to 300 credits before voice, credits expire monthly, and credit costs can change without notice.
Per credit, annual InVideo Max is already cheap. What gets expensive is the number of attempts per usable ad. If you need many ad variations each month, a plan counted in finished ads can cost less in practice than credits, because retries do not draw down a balance.
Yes. InVideo runs a UGC ads agent that reads a product or app link, casts a creator from your description, shows each shot as a still for approval and animates it with voice and lip sync. It is billed from the same credit balance as everything else.
Only narrowly. Its terms make fees non-refundable except within 7 days of purchase or renewal, and only if you have used no credits or premium features. There are no partial or pro-rata refunds, so generating even one test clip ends the right to a refund.
No. InVideo states that unused credits do not roll over to the next month. They carry forward only when you upgrade. Cancelling or downgrading drops the account to the Free plan at the end of the cycle, and any unused paid credits expire.
Yes if you mainly make paid social ads. AdsGen turns a product URL into ready-to-run 9:16 UGC ads with the angle and hook written for you. It is not a replacement for InVideo if you also need landscape explainers, faceless YouTube videos or prompt-based editing, which we do not offer.
