HeyGen Creator Plan Price, Credits and How Many Videos

The HeyGen Creator plan is $29 a month or $24 billed yearly for 600 credits and one seat. Those credits make about 38 thirty-second Avatar IV videos at roughly $0.75 each, or 25 on Avatar V. Creator cannot buy extra credits, exports stop at 1080p, and its credit is slightly cheaper than the first four Pro tiers.

The HeyGen Creator plan costs $29 a month, or $24 a month billed as $288 a year, and includes 600 credits a month for one user. At HeyGen's published rates those 600 credits make about 38 thirty-second Avatar IV videos from a filmed avatar, or 25 on Avatar V, at roughly $0.75 and $1.16 each. Exports are 1080p with no watermark, videos run up to 30 minutes, and you cannot buy extra credits on Creator: when 600 is not enough, the only route is Pro.

We read the HeyGen pricing page, its plan data, six help centre articles, the terms of service (last updated 23 July 2026) and Trustpilot on 12 October 2026. This page is for a marketer, founder or solo creator about to pay for Creator who wants to know what the plan really buys, where it stops, and whether Pro or Business is the better purchase. Per-video dollar figures are our arithmetic from HeyGen's own credit table.

HeyGen Creator plan price on monthly and yearly billing

Creator is $29 a month on monthly billing, which is $348 over a year. On annual billing the card reads $24 a month and the checkout total is $288, so the true discount is 17.2 percent, or $60. That is smaller than the 20 percent HeyGen gives on its Business plan ($149 monthly against $119 a month billed $1,428 a year).

One detail matters if you are choosing annual to stockpile credits for a launch. HeyGen's help centre says an annual subscription "does not provide all the annual credits at once". You still receive 600 a month. What annual changes is expiry: unused credits accumulate until the yearly renewal date instead of lapsing after one extra month.

HeyGen Creator plan credits and what they pay for

Since HeyGen retired its "unlimited" plans in May 2026, credits are the single currency for everything on Creator. Nothing that produces a video is unmetered any more, including the older Avatar III engine. The rates below are identical in two help centre articles we read on 12 October 2026. HeyGen bills per second of avatar generation, and it notes that some accounts see different costs depending on when and where they were created, so confirm the figure inside your own account.

How many videos does the HeyGen Creator plan make?

It depends almost entirely on the avatar engine. Here is the working for a 30-second talking video, the length most paid social ads run, at 4.83 cents a credit on monthly billing and 4.0 cents on annual.

30-second videoCreditsVideos a monthCost each, monthly
Avatar IV, photo avatar875$0.39
Avatar IV, filmed avatar15.538$0.75
Avatar V2425$1.16
Avatar IV plus custom motion35.516$1.72

Those counts assume every video is right on the first render. They never are. Changing a line and regenerating the scene spends the credits again, so a marketer who needs three takes to get a usable ad should divide the middle rows by three: about 12 finished Avatar IV ads a month, or 8 on Avatar V, at $2.25 to $3.50 per ad you would actually run. That is still cheap. It is also a long way from the "unlimited videos" that older HeyGen guides promise, because those describe plans that stopped being sold on 15 May 2026.

For longer formats the same budget is about 19 minutes of Avatar IV with a filmed avatar, or 12 and a half minutes of Avatar V. One of HeyGen's own help pages still lists the old Creator quota of 600 seconds of Avatar IV, which is the retired plan and roughly half of what 600 credits buy today.

What the Creator plan includes

Beyond credits, Creator gives one seat, exports up to 1080p with the watermark removed, videos up to 30 minutes, a brand kit, templates, translation into more than 175 languages and dialects (paid from credits), product placement, background removal, live chat support and a library of over 700 stock avatars. You can create as many photo avatars as you like. Making videos with them is what costs credits.

Two inclusions are stated differently depending on which HeyGen page you read. Custom filmed avatars, which HeyGen calls digital twins, are "1+" on the pricing table, while the help centre says most Creator accounts get 5 slots and some get 1, depending on account age and region. Extra slots are $29 a month each. Voice clones are capped at 40 in the help centre, yet a tooltip on the pricing page says "unlimited voice clones". Check both numbers in your account before you plan around them.

What the Creator plan does not include

The limits are where most buyers get caught, so here they are in one list.

  • No credit top-ups. HeyGen's help centre says "Creator does not support one-time credit purchases. If you need more credits, you can upgrade to Pro." Run out on the 20th and you wait or upgrade.
  • No 4K. Export stops at 1080p. 4K starts on Pro.
  • No second seat. Creator and Pro are both single-user. Shared workspaces start on Business.
  • No translation proofreading or voice switching. The pricing table gives both to Pro and up.
  • No API key access. The API is a separate prepaid wallet. Plan credits do work through HeyGen's MCP connection, which signs in to your account. Our HeyGen API pricing breakdown has the per-minute rates.
  • Standard processing speed. Creator is labelled "Fast", Pro and Business "Faster".

HeyGen Creator plan vs Pro and Business

The surprise in HeyGen's ladder is that paying more does not buy cheaper credits until you are spending $240 a month. Creator's credit is slightly cheaper than the first four Pro rungs, and Business costs twice as much per credit as anything else.

PlanMonthly priceCreditsPer credit
Creator$296004.83 cents
Pro 1,000$491,0004.90 cents
Pro 2,000$992,0004.95 cents
Pro 3,000$1493,0004.97 cents
Pro 5,000$2405,0004.80 cents
Pro 10,000$46010,0004.60 cents
Business$1491,500, shared9.93 cents

So the choice is about features and headroom, not unit price. Move to Pro when you need more than 600 credits a month, 4K export, the Seedance 2.0 model, translation proofreading, or more than 40 voice clones (Pro allows 70). Pro is still one seat.

Business is a different purchase. At $149 it gives 1,500 credits, half of what Pro gives for the same money, and extra seats at $20 each add no credits. What it sells is the team layer: shared workspace and roles, SSO, 60-minute videos, double the concurrency of Pro, LMS export, and the only credit top-ups on the ladder at 5 cents a credit. Buy it for governance. If one person makes the videos, Pro 3,000 is twice the output for the same $149.

Do HeyGen Creator credits roll over, and can you get a refund?

On monthly billing, unused credits roll over for one more month, so a credit lasts up to 60 days. On annual billing they accumulate until the yearly renewal date. Pausing is the trap: HeyGen's cancellation article says pausing a plan "expires your credit balance entirely", and the pause only delays the next charge by 30 days before billing resumes on its own.

Refunds are discretionary. The terms say payments are non-refundable except where the law requires. The help centre is softer: purchases made on the website "may be refunded within 15 days", reviewed case by case, and may be refused if a significant share of the credits has been used. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the paid period with no prorated refund, the account drops to Free, and leftover credits expire. Your videos stay.

The practical order: start on monthly, burn through a full cycle on real work, and only then decide on annual.

Is the HeyGen free plan enough to test before paying?

For a look at quality, yes. For anything you publish, no. Free gives three videos a month of up to one minute at 720p with a watermark that cannot be removed. More importantly, the terms license free output "solely for personal, non-commercial, and internal evaluation purposes" and bar using it in advertising or client work. An ad exported from the free plan breaches the terms even if you crop the watermark.

Who should buy the Creator plan

Creator fits one person who makes talking-head video regularly and already knows what to say: a founder recording product updates, a trainer turning written lessons into clips, a sales lead sending personalised intros. A lot of Creator output never touches an ad account at all, and ends up in onboarding, on a help page, or looping on the screens in a shop or a reception area. At under a dollar for 30 seconds of Avatar IV, nothing we have priced in this category beats it for that job. HeyGen holds 4.1 on Trustpilot from 4,363 reviews, 68 percent five-star and 15 percent one-star, and the low scores are mostly about billing, which the sections above explain.

It fits less well when the output is paid social. The avatar is the easy part of an ad. The hard part is the hook and the angle, and Creator gives you a blank script box and 600 credits to spend finding out which of your ideas works. Our HeyGen review scores it for ad teams in detail, and the HeyGen pricing guide covers every plan.

Where AdsGen fits instead

AdsGen starts from the other end. You paste a product page URL and it writes a batch of up to 20 UGC ad scripts across six angles, each with its own hook, then renders the ones you choose as 9:16 videos with an AI presenter and burned-in captions. Starter is $99 a month, or $49 a month billed yearly, for 4 script batches and 1 rendered 720p video a month. You can run the script engine on your own product in the demo at the top of this page before paying anything.

The limits, plainly: our plans include a small fixed number of renders, so HeyGen Creator produces far more finished video per dollar. We make vertical ads only, in English, with generated presenters who are not customers and must not be presented as testimonials. If you need a clone of yourself, long videos, landscape or translation, buy HeyGen. If you already pay for Creator and your ads stall because every script sounds the same, use AdsGen to find the angles and render the winners wherever is cheapest. The HeyGen alternative page compares the two side by side, and AdsGen pricing lists every plan.

HeyGen Creator plan FAQ

How much is the HeyGen Creator plan?

$29 a month on monthly billing, or $24 a month billed as $288 a year. The annual saving is $60, which is 17.2 percent. Both versions include 600 credits a month for one user, 1080p export without a watermark and videos up to 30 minutes.

How many credits does the HeyGen Creator plan have?

600 credits a month. A credit costs 4.83 cents on monthly billing and 4.0 cents on annual. Avatar IV with a filmed avatar uses 31 credits a minute and Avatar V uses 48, so 600 credits cover about 19 minutes of Avatar IV or 12.5 minutes of Avatar V before any re-renders.

Is the HeyGen Creator plan unlimited?

No. HeyGen stopped selling its unlimited plans on 15 May 2026. On the current Creator plan every video costs credits, including the older Avatar III engine at 4 to 7 credits a minute. The only unlimited item is creating photo avatars, and generating video with them still spends credits.

Can I buy more credits on the HeyGen Creator plan?

No. HeyGen's help centre says Creator does not support one-time credit purchases and directs you to upgrade to Pro. Pro has no credit packs either, only larger tiers. Business is the only plan with top-ups, at $5 per 100 credits.

Is the HeyGen Creator plan worth it?

Yes, for one person making avatar videos every week who needs 1080p and no watermark. At about $0.75 per 30 seconds of Avatar IV it is one of the cheapest ways to produce a talking presenter. It is a weaker buy if you need 4K, a second seat or more than 600 credits a month.

What is the difference between HeyGen Creator and Pro?

Pro starts at $49 a month for 1,000 credits and scales to 100,000. It adds 4K export, faster processing, the Seedance 2.0 model, translation proofreading and 70 voice clones. It does not lower the price per credit until the 5,000 tier at $240 a month, and it is still a single seat.

Can I use HeyGen Creator plan videos for ads?

Yes. The terms say paid users own their output and may use it commercially. The free plan is different: its output is licensed for personal and evaluation use only and may not be used in advertising. If you clone another person as an avatar, you need their consent.
