Billo Review: Billo App Reviews, Pricing, Is It Worth It?

Billo is a real UGC marketplace and worth it when you need a real person holding your real product. Its app lists a 30-second video at $139 and packs start at $500. Trustpilot is 4.0 from 520 reviews, but many five-star reviews come from creators, while the brand complaints are about expiring balances, revision limits and quality.

Billo is a legitimate UGC marketplace with real creators in the US, UK, Canada and Australia, and it is worth paying for if you need a real person holding your real product on camera and can wait one to two weeks for it. The list price its own app loads is $99 for a 15-second video, $139 for 30 seconds and $169 for 60, before add-ons, and you pay by prepaying a pack from $500. It holds 4.0 on Trustpilot from 520 reviews, 74 percent five-star and 13 percent one-star, but many of the five-star reviews come from creators who get paid through Billo, while most of the low ones come from brands.

We read Billo's terms of service (effective 23 September 2026), its help centre, the price list its brand app loads, its managed-service page, Trustpilot, G2 and the App Store listing for the creator app on 27 September 2026. This review is written for a brand or agency about to buy a Billo pack. It covers what one usable ad really costs once add-ons count, what the pack sizes actually buy, where the reviews come from, and the rights and refund clauses you should read before paying.

What Billo actually does

Billo is a marketplace, not a production studio and not an AI tool. You write a brief, creators apply or you invite them, and you pick the ones you want by age, interests, location, occupation and equipment. You ship them the product. They film on their phones, upload, Billo runs a quality check, and you approve or ask for changes. Billo says it has more than 5,000 creators across four countries.

That model is the reason to buy it and the reason it is slow. You get a real person who actually used the product, filmed in a real kitchen or bathroom, which is something no generator can honestly give you. You also wait for shipping, filming and review: Billo's own help centre says 7 to 12 days after the creator receives the product, plus one to two business days for editing and two to five more for each reshoot.

How much does Billo cost per video?

Billo's marketing site shows no price, and billo.app/pricing still redirects to a login screen. The prices do exist, though. The brand app loads them from a public price list, and that list is what we read. Treat these as list prices; your checkout could differ.

LengthBrand paysCreator getsCreator share
15 seconds$99$3030%
30 seconds$139$4029%
60 seconds$169$5533%
90 seconds$189$6534%
120 seconds$209$7536%

The creator column comes from the same price list, which carries the payout for a regular creator next to each brand price. Premium creators cost the brand $50 more per video and are paid $70 to $90. Creator share is our arithmetic. Third-party pieces that say creators keep 40 to 60 percent are not consistent with Billo's own numbers, which put the regular creator at roughly a third.

The base video is rarely the whole bill. The add-ons that matter for an ad buyer are three extra videos with different hooks (priced the same as one base video of that length, so $139 for three extra 30-second cuts), expert editing (the help centre advertises $89, though the app's list shows lower figures, so check your checkout), 4:5 and 1:1 crops for $25, and a complexity bonus Billo recommends at $20 to $190 when the brief asks more of the creator. Whitelisting and Spark Ads are priced by each creator separately.

A realistic test order for one product, a 30-second video with the three-hook bundle, lists at $278 for four cuts, about $70 each, before editing or partnership fees. With a premium creator it is $328 or more.

What do the Billo packs actually buy?

You do not pay per video at checkout. You prepay a pack, the money becomes a Billo balance, and orders draw it down. Larger packs add bonus balance.

PackYou payBalanceBonus30s videos
Basic$500$5000%3
Essential$1,000$1,10010%7
Professional$2,500$2,80012%20
Refine$5,000$5,70014%41
Grow$10,000$11,50015%82
Scale$15,000$17,50016.7%125
Venture$30,000$35,50018.3%255

Billo labels these packs "up to 5 videos", "up to 11", "up to 28" and so on up to 358. Divide the balance by the price list and those counts are 15-second videos at $99 with no add-ons at all. In 30-second videos, the length most paid social ads actually run, every pack buys roughly 30 percent fewer, as the last column shows (our arithmetic, whole videos only). Size your pack against the videos you will really order, with hooks and edits, not against the label.

Is Billo worth it?

It is worth it when authenticity is the product. If you sell something physical that people need to see used, a skincare texture, a gadget in a hand, food on a plate, a real creator with the real item beats any rendered presenter, and $139 for a 30-second video is well below the $150 to $500 that direct creator deals usually run once you include finding, briefing and chasing. Billo does the finding and chasing for its margin, and on its own price list that margin is about two thirds of each base video.

It is less convincing as a testing engine. Paid social rewards volume: ten hooks on one product, then ten more on the winner. At $70 or so per cut and a week or two per round, Billo gets you a handful of learnings a month on a four-figure budget. Billo's own brand form reflects who it is built for, with the smallest monthly ad-spend option starting at $15,000.

The honest split is that Billo is good at finding the few real videos worth scaling, and slow and dear at the volume of hooks you need to find them. For the full picture on cost, see our Billo pricing breakdown.

What the Billo Trustpilot reviews say

Billo holds 4.0 on Trustpilot from 520 reviews: 74 percent five-star, 8 percent four, 3 percent three, 2 percent two and 13 percent one. That is a healthier shape than most tools we have reviewed. The catch is who is writing. Billo runs a two-sided marketplace, and in a sample of twenty five-star reviews we read, fourteen were from creators praising payouts and the app, many posted in a cluster in December 2025 and January 2026. The one to three-star reviews are mostly from brands.

The brand complaints repeat. Balances expiring after twelve months without enough warning. Premium creators who ignored the brief or delivered poor audio. Limits on revisions and auto-approval kicking in before anyone had watched the video. Slow support and difficulty getting a VAT invoice. One brand in August 2026 described markups it considered far above what the creator was paid, which Billo's own price list supports: the brand pays $139 for a 30-second video and a regular creator receives $40.

The creator app is rated 4.69 from 1,848 ratings in the US App Store. That tells you creators like getting paid through Billo. It tells a brand very little.

Revisions, approval and quality control

Every video gets up to two reshoot requests, which go to the creator when the content does not match the brief, and up to two edit requests, which go to Billo's post-production. Neither covers stylistic changes or anything that was not in the brief. That rule is where most revision disputes start, so write the brief as if it were a contract: hook, claims, shots, what not to say.

Watch the clock too. Content is approved automatically three business days after it reaches Requires approval. After that, changes are not guaranteed and a reshoot fee may apply. If your team reviews creative once a week, you will lose revision rights on some videos without noticing.

On raw footage, the old complaint that Billo only delivers one final file is out of date. Every order includes the basic creator video without captions or music, you get both the original and the edited version if you order editing, and since April 2026 you can buy extra raw clips when the creator offers them, at the creator's price plus 25 percent.

Who owns a Billo video, and the AI clause to know about

The rights are the strongest part of Billo's offer. Under the terms, once you have paid and accepted a video, the creator irrevocably assigns you the intellectual property worldwide for the full duration of those rights, expressly including paid, owned, earned and shared media, and the creator's likeness as it appears in the video. There is no time-limited licence to renew, which many direct creator deals and some agencies still use.

Three clauses qualify that. Billo says it does not guarantee the assignment has been or will be effective, so the promise is the creator's, not Billo's. You grant Billo a perpetual licence to use your videos to promote Billo. And you may not use AI to make an altered depiction of the creator's voice or likeness without separate written consent, which rules out feeding Billo footage into an avatar or voice-cloning tool. Partnership ads and Spark Ads run from the creator's handle for 30 days at a time, paid to the creator on top.

If you hire creators directly instead of through a marketplace, you need the same assignment in writing, and a signed creator agreement with the usage rights spelled out is what protects you when a video that started as a test becomes your best-performing ad.

Refunds, expiry and the clauses to read first

Billo's help centre and its current terms say your balance is valid for 12 months unless stated otherwise, and the pack list shows 12 months on every pack including Venture. Older FAQ pages on the marketing site still mention 18 months and 3 months; the current policy is 12.

Refunds are better than most people report. Under the current refund policy, the unused balance is fully refundable within 30 days of purchase, and after 30 days it is refundable minus a 25 percent administration fee, with bonus credit excluded. Expired balance cannot be used or refunded. If a creator cancels a collaboration, the money goes back to your balance, not your card. Billo also refunds or compensates you if you cannot select a creator within 30 days of creating an order.

The contracting company is Billo.app, UAB, in Kaunas, Lithuania, and disputes go to the Lithuanian courts under Lithuanian law. Billo's liability is capped at 500 euros. For a US brand spending five figures on a pack, those two lines are worth knowing before you pay.

When to buy Billo instead of AdsGen

Buy Billo when you need real people. If your ad has to show the actual product being used, if you want Spark Ads or partnership ads running from a real creator's account, or if your category needs a person who genuinely tried the item, Billo does that and we do not. Our presenters are generated. They are not customers and can never honestly be shown as testimonials.

Buy Billo too if you already know your winning angle and want a few polished, human versions of it for a big spend. The two-week wait matters less when the brief is settled.

If you are weighing other marketplaces and tools against it, our Billo alternative comparison lays out the options by cost per video and turnaround.

What AdsGen does instead

AdsGen is the testing side of the same job. You paste a product URL, we read the page and write UGC-style scripts with several different hooks and angles, and return finished 9:16 video ads with AI presenters and burned-in captions in minutes, with no shipping and no approval clock. Plans are counted in finished ads, from $99 a month or $82 billed yearly, so a batch of ten hook tests costs less than one Billo video. See the AdsGen plans.

The limits, stated plainly. Output is vertical only. A thin product page gives the model less to work with. The presenters are generated, so use them to find which hook and angle wins, then brief a real creator on Billo or elsewhere to shoot the winner if your category needs a real person. That combination, cheap volume to learn and paid humans to scale, is how many teams spend less on both.

Billo review FAQ

Is Billo legit?

Yes. Billo is run by Billo.app, UAB, a Lithuanian company with a San Francisco address, and pays creators twice a month through PayPal. It holds 4.0 on Trustpilot from 520 reviews. Many five-star reviews come from creators rather than brands, and most brand complaints concern expiring balances, creator quality and revision limits rather than non-delivery.

Is Billo worth it for brands?

For real creators filming a physical product, yes: a 30-second video lists at $139, below most direct creator rates once sourcing time counts. For high-volume hook testing it is slow and dear, at about $70 a cut with the hook bundle and one to two weeks per round. Use it to scale proven angles rather than to find them.

How much does Billo cost?

The list prices Billo's brand app loads are $99 for a 15-second video, $139 for 30 seconds, $169 for 60, $189 for 90 and $209 for 120, plus $50 for a premium creator. You pay by prepaying a pack from $500 to $30,000, with bonus balance of up to 18.3 percent on the largest. The managed service starts at $2,000 a month.

How much does Billo pay creators?

Billo's own price list shows a regular creator receives $30 for a 15-second video, $40 for 30 seconds and $55 for 60 seconds, roughly 29 to 36 percent of what the brand pays. Premium creators receive $70 to $90. Creators also set their own prices for raw clips, posting and partnership ads.

Do Billo credits expire?

Yes. The current terms and help centre say balance is valid for 12 months unless stated otherwise, and every pack in the current list shows 12 months. Expired balance cannot be used or refunded. Older FAQ pages on Billo's site still mention 18 or 3 months; the current policy is the 12-month one.

Can I get a refund from Billo?

For unused balance, yes. The refund policy returns unused balance in full within 30 days of purchase and minus a 25 percent administration fee after that, excluding bonus credit. Money from a cancelled collaboration goes back to your balance, not your card. Expired packs and CreativeOps subscription charges are not refunded.

Who owns the videos made on Billo?

You do, once you have paid and accepted the video. The creator irrevocably assigns the IP worldwide, including use in paid media and their likeness as shown. Billo keeps a licence to use videos to promote itself, and you need the creator's separate written consent before making any AI-altered version of their face or voice.

How long does Billo take to deliver?

Billo says 7 to 12 days after the creator receives your product, so add shipping time. Editing adds one to two business days and each reshoot or edit request two to five more. Videos are approved automatically three business days after they are ready for review, so check them promptly.
