MakeUGC AI Review: MakeUGC Review, Pricing, Is It Worth It?
MakeUGC charges 100 credits per video, so Start up at $59 a month is 5 videos at $11.80 each and annual Pro 5,000 is $2.58. Its monthly prices rose 14 to 25 percent after June 2026, Trustpilot has withheld its score after removing fake reviews, and its own terms page contradicts itself on who owns your videos after you cancel.

MakeUGC is a real, working AI UGC ad tool with a large library of realistic creators and a product-in-hand feature most rivals lack, and it is worth it if you make a steady volume of talking-creator ads and buy the annual plan. On monthly billing it is expensive: 100 credits make one video, so Start up at $59 buys 5 videos at $11.80 each. Its Trustpilot profile shows 208 reviews split 49% five-star against 47% one-star, with the score withheld after Trustpilot removed fake reviews, and the newest complaints are about charges after cancelling.
We read MakeUGC's pricing page (including the structured data and the script behind the Pro slider), its API docs, terms of service, refund policy, trial policy, fair use policy and Trustpilot profile on 21 September 2026. Below is what a buyer needs before entering a card: what each plan really buys in videos, which prices went up this summer, the three clauses that decide whether you can live with it, and where MakeUGC is simply the better purchase than what we sell.
MakeUGC reviews at a glance
| What we checked | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Trustpilot | 208 reviews: 49% five-star, 47% one-star |
| Cheapest paid plan | Start up: $59 a month, or $29 billed yearly |
| Credits per video | 100 per video; 200 for product-in-hand |
| Trial | $1, then full price; one per person or company |
| Refund rule | 3 business days, credits mostly unused |
| Ownership of output | Yours, but the terms contradict themselves |
| Training on your content | On by default; opt out by email |
What do MakeUGC reviews say?
Read the one-star reviews first, because they are recent and specific. The newest ones, posted between 10 and 20 September 2026, describe charges that continued after the reviewer believed they had cancelled. That is a billing complaint, not a complaint about the videos, and it matches the clauses we cover below: automatic renewal, a short refund window and a trial that converts to full price.
Weigh the five-star side with care. It is almost as large as the one-star side, but Trustpilot says it has removed reviews it judged to be fake for this company, so the positive half carries less weight than it would on an ordinary profile. The best evidence of output quality is the output itself: MakeUGC's $1 trial lets you render your own product before committing, and that tells you more than any star count.
The shape is the finding. A split of 49% five-star against 47% one-star is the most extreme barbell we have seen in this category apart from Arcads, and Trustpilot does not show a score at all: its banner reads "This company's rating is unavailable due to a breach of our guidelines" and "We've removed a number of fake reviews for this company." So the average you may see quoted elsewhere, often 2.8, is out of date, and nobody should rely on a MakeUGC star rating in either direction. Read the billing clauses below instead, because that is where the one-star reviews come from.
How much does MakeUGC cost?
MakeUGC sells credits, and its own pricing script sets the rate at 100 credits per video. The table converts every plan to videos.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual, per month | Videos a month | Per video, monthly | Per video, annual |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Start up | $59 | $29 | 5 | $11.80 | $5.80 |
| Growth | $79 | $39 | 10 | $7.90 | $3.90 |
| Pro, 2,000 credits | $149 | $79 | 20 | $7.45 | $3.95 |
| Pro, 3,000 credits | $199 | $99 | 30 | $6.63 | $3.30 |
| Pro, 5,000 credits | $249 | $129 | 50 | $4.98 | $2.58 |
| API Starter | $99 | $50 | 20 | $4.95 | $2.50 |
| API Pro | $299 | $150 | 60 | $4.98 | $2.50 |
Two things in that table matter more than the headline prices. First, the prices went up this summer. An archived copy of the page from 6 June 2026 shows Start up at $49, Growth at $69 and Pro at $119 a month for the same 5, 10 and 20 videos, so monthly prices rose 20%, 14% and 25%. Several reviews still ranking for this search quote the old numbers. Second, the annual plan roughly halves the price per video, and the monthly Start up plan is the worst deal on the page at $11.80 a video. If you are going to use MakeUGC for more than a month or two, the monthly plan is the wrong way to buy it. Our MakeUGC pricing breakdown goes through every rung and the fine print on the slider.
Is MakeUGC's 50% OFF badge accurate?
On most plans, yes. Divide the annual price by the monthly one and Start up saves 50.8%, Growth 50.6% and the Pro 3,000 rung 50.3%. Two rungs fall short: Pro 2,000 is 47.0% off ($79 against $149) and Pro 5,000 is 48.2% off. That is a small gap, and it is more honest than most annual banners we have checked. The countdown next to it is not. The "Special 24h offer" timer restarts every 24 hours in your browser, so it is not a real deadline and there is no reason to rush.
What does a 30-second ad cost on MakeUGC?
A 30-second talking-actor ad costs 100 credits, the same as a 10-second one. MakeUGC's API docs charge a flat 100 credits for a talking-actor video with a script of up to 1,500 characters, so length inside that limit is free. That makes a 30-second ad $11.80 on monthly Start up, $7.45 on monthly Pro and $2.58 on the annual Pro 5,000 rung.
Product-in-hand is where it doubles. On the Omi-Human model, a clip under 15 seconds costs 100 credits and a 15 to 30 second clip costs 200, capped at 30 seconds. Veo scenes are 100 or 200 credits each, up to four scenes. These rates come from the API documentation, and the app does not publish its own, so check your first renders against them. Then divide the monthly count by three or four, because that is how many takes it usually takes to get one hook worth running.
For comparison, a 30-second talking ad on HeyGen Creator is about 75 cents, per our HeyGen review, and about $3.90 on Creatify Starter. MakeUGC is not the cheap option per video. What you pay for is the UGC look and product-in-hand, which the cheaper avatar tools do not do as well.
Does MakeUGC have a free trial?
It has a $1 trial on every self-serve plan, and no free plan. The page does not state the trial length. The checkout links point to a 72-hour trial on monthly billing and a 24-hour trial on annual, and independent reviews describe the same 72 hours. After that the trial converts to the full price of the plan you picked.
Three conditions are worth reading before you pay the dollar. The trial policy, effective 2 January 2026, allows one trial per person or company, and if MakeUGC decides the trial was abused it will "immediately charge the full monthly subscription fee", with no refund on that charge. MakeUGC's FAQ says Unlimited generation does not activate during the trial, only after the first full billing cycle. And the refund policy's three-day window starts at purchase, so a trial that converts on day three leaves you very little time.
Can you get a refund from MakeUGC?
Sometimes, within a short window. The refund policy, last updated 4 September 2025, gives a full refund if you ask "within three (3) business days of your purchase or renewal", provided credits have not been substantially consumed. Under half the credits used, a 50% refund "may be granted". Half or more used, no refund. Plans active beyond two weeks or older than a month are not refundable at all, requests go to [email protected], refunds take up to ten business days, and a processing fee may apply.
Two details make this stricter than it looks. A confirmed refund permanently cancels the account and deletes every video and project, so download everything first. And the terms of service say something different: section 6.3 states "Payments are non-refundable except where required by law." The refund policy is the more generous document, so quote it if you ask.
Cancelling is done in account settings, and you keep access until the end of the billing period. Given the recent reviews about charges after cancellation, take a screenshot of the cancellation confirmation. It costs nothing and it settles any dispute.
Can you use MakeUGC videos in ads and for clients?
On a paid plan, yes. The terms assign "all copyrights in Output to you" and grant a "perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, assignable, and sublicensable licence" to use, adapt, distribute and commercialise it. That wording is better for agencies than most in this category, because it names sublicensing, and the indemnity clause explicitly covers output provided to your clients. Arcads, by comparison, calls its licence non-transferable.
There is one contradiction to know about. MakeUGC's terms page prints the full terms three times. Two copies say you own your output "including after your Subscription ends." The third says "You own all rights in Output generated while your Subscription is active." The fair use policy leans the same way as the third: output is licensed only with a valid, active paid subscription, and free-tier users get no commercial rights. Until MakeUGC fixes its own page, an agency delivering files to a client should keep the subscription live for as long as those ads run, or get the ownership point confirmed in writing.
Accounts themselves cannot be sold, shared or transferred, and self-serve plans publish no seat count, so a team needs Enterprise for multiple seats. Enterprise also includes a dedicated creative strategist. If you would rather hire that strategist in-house, you can run first-round screening interviews for the role in software and keep the MakeUGC plan small.
On training, the privacy policy says your inputs may be used to train future versions of MakeUGC's models, and the only opt-out is an email to [email protected]. Send it before you upload a client's product footage.
Is MakeUGC worth it?
Yes, on annual billing, if your ads are a creator talking to camera or holding your product and you make at least ten a month. At $3.90 a video on annual Growth or $2.58 on annual Pro 5,000, with 1,000 plus creators, product-in-hand and a licence that names sublicensing, it is a fair buy. Pick Growth over Start up, because Start up is limited to selected models and gives half the videos for $20 less.
No, on monthly billing for a small test. Five videos for $59 is $11.80 each, and with one working hook in three or four attempts, that is roughly $40 to $50 per usable ad. Also no if you need square or landscape video, since only 9:16 is documented, or if you need an agreed answer on output ownership after cancellation before you deliver to a client.
Where it wins outright: realistic creator look, product-in-hand, and a cheaper API tab. The API plans cost 4.95 to 4.98 cents a credit against 7.45 on monthly Pro for the same 2,000 credits, so any team that can generate programmatically should price the API before it buys a platform plan. If MakeUGC is on a shortlist with a rival, we have priced the head-to-heads: MakeUGC vs Higgsfield, MakeUGC vs HeyGen and MakeUGC vs Creatify.
How AdsGen approaches the same job differently
MakeUGC expects you to arrive with a script and pick the creator. That is fine when you already know your angle. If the hard part is deciding what the ad should say, AdsGen starts one step earlier: paste a product URL and it reads the page, writes several hooks and angles, casts a creator who reads as a person filming on a phone, and returns a batch of finished 9:16 ads with burned-in captions. Plans are counted in finished ads rather than credits, starting at $82 a month, so the losing variations are part of the plan instead of a line on a meter. The MakeUGC alternative page puts the two workflows side by side.
The limits are worth stating. Output is 9:16 vertical with captions burned in, so it suits paid social and not a landscape brand film. A thin or image-only product page gives the engine less to work with. We do not do product-in-hand, which is exactly the thing MakeUGC is best at. And the presenters are generated, so they are not customers and should never be captioned as testimonials. You can see the output on your own product before paying: the demo at the top of this page runs the real engine on a URL you paste.
MakeUGC review FAQ
Is MakeUGC legit?
Yes, it is a working product with public pricing, API docs and published terms, run by a registered limited company. Two things are worth knowing: its terms name Cinnamon Technology Limited while its trial and fair use policies name Make Media Limited, and Trustpilot has withheld its rating after removing fake reviews. The product works; read the billing terms carefully.
Is MakeUGC free?
No. There is no free plan, only a $1 trial on every self-serve plan that converts to full price, which the checkout links suggest is after 72 hours on monthly billing. Free-tier output carries no commercial rights under the fair use policy, so ads need a paid plan: Start up at $59 a month or $29 billed annually.
How much is MakeUGC per month?
Start up is $59, Growth $79 and Pro from $149 on monthly billing, or $29, $39 and $79 a month billed annually, for 5, 10 and 20 videos. The Pro slider runs to 50 videos at $249, or $129 annually. API plans are $99 and $299 a month. Prices read on 21 September 2026.
How many videos do you get with MakeUGC?
One video per 100 credits, so 5 on Start up, 10 on Growth and 20, 30 or 50 on the Pro slider. That holds for talking-actor videos up to a 1,500-character script. A 15 to 30 second product-in-hand clip on the Omi-Human model costs 200 credits, so it counts as two. Credits expire at the end of each month.
How do I cancel my MakeUGC subscription?
Cancel in account settings, and you keep access until the end of the billing period. The subscription renews automatically until you do, and prices can change with 30 days' notice. Screenshot the confirmation, since several recent reviews describe charges after cancelling. A refund request within three business days goes to [email protected].
Do MakeUGC credits roll over?
No. MakeUGC's FAQ says credits do not roll over and expire at the end of the month, so a plan sized for your busiest month wastes money in quiet ones. Annual billing cuts the price per video roughly in half but still hands out credits month by month.
Can agencies use MakeUGC for client work?
Yes. The terms grant an assignable, sublicensable licence to output and the indemnity covers output given to clients. The account itself cannot be shared, and one copy of the terms ties ownership to an active subscription, so keep the plan live while a client's ads run and opt out of model training by email first.
