MakeUGC uses credit-based plans, not a fixed number of videos. At the time of writing its pricing page showed a promotional discount with Startup at $59 a month for 500 credits, Growth at $79 for 1,000, and Pro at $149 for 2,000, plus separate API plans starting at $99. There is no free plan, though a $1 trial is offered. Because the plans are metered in credits, your real cost per finished ad depends on how long and how complex each video is.

MakeUGC is one of the closest tools to AdsGen in the AI UGC space, so its pricing is worth understanding line by line before you commit. The short version: it is competitively priced at the entry tier, the credit model rewards short videos, and the numbers on the page move around because of frequent promotions. Here is the full breakdown, read live off makeugc.ai/pricing on August 26, 2026.

How much does MakeUGC cost?

MakeUGC lists four self-serve tiers plus API plans. The prices below were shown under a limited-time discount banner, so treat them as promotional rather than permanent list prices, and check the live page before you buy.

PlanPrice (promo)Credits / monthBest for
Startup$59/mo500Testing the tool, low volume
Growth$79/mo1,000Regular ad testing, all models
Pro$149/mo2,000High volume, product-in-hand, Video Agent
EnterpriseCustomCustomAPI, dedicated support, custom workflows
API Starter / API Pro$99 / $2992,000 / 6,000Developers integrating generation

The jump from Startup to Growth doubles your credits for $20 more and unlocks all of the AI models plus batch mode, which is why most teams that get past testing land on Growth. Pro adds the features people actually pay up for: product-in-hand videos where the AI actor holds your item, the Video Agent that recreates the structure of a reference ad, and PDF-to-video.

How do credits map to videos?

This is the part that trips people up. MakeUGC quotes plans in credits, not videos, so a plan that says 1,000 credits does not mean 1,000 ads. Credit cost scales with video length, resolution, and which model you use, so a batch of short 9:16 hooks stretches much further than a run of long 4K pieces. The per-video counts you see in older blog posts (5, 10, or 20 videos a month) come from a previous tiering and do not match the current credit-based plans, so do not budget from them.

The practical takeaway: if you make short paid-social ads, credits go a long way. If you make longer explainer-style content in high resolution, plan for fewer finished videos per credit bundle. Estimate your real cost by generating a few typical ads on the trial and watching how many credits each one burns.

Does MakeUGC have a free plan?

No. MakeUGC does not offer a free plan. It runs a $1 first month on Pro so you can test the workflow, after which the plan renews at $149. If a permanent free tier is a hard requirement, MakeUGC is not it, and most serious AI UGC tools have moved away from free plans because rendering video is expensive to run.

One thing to know before you treat that dollar as a full evaluation: it does not include Unlimited, the feature the upper plans are marketed on. MakeUGC's own FAQ asks the question and answers it, verbatim: "No. Unlimited only activates after your $1 trial ends and your first full billing cycle begins." So the trial shows you the actors, the workflow and the output quality, and tells you nothing about the economics. To evaluate Unlimited you have to let the $149 renewal go through first.

Which MakeUGC plan should you choose?

Match the plan to your output, not to the feature list. Startup at 500 credits suits evaluation and the occasional ad, but most teams find it runs dry within a couple of weeks of real testing. Growth at 1,000 credits and all models is the sensible default for a single brand doing regular creative testing, since it unlocks batch mode, which matters when you want several variations of one concept at once. Pro at 2,000 credits earns its price only if you use the features it gates: product-in-hand videos, the Video Agent, and PDF-to-video. If you are not using those, paying for Pro just to get more credits is worse value than an add-on top-up on Growth.

The API plans are a separate decision. API Starter at $99 and API Pro at $299 exist for developers wiring generation into their own app or pipeline, and they are priced per credit pool rather than per seat. Do not buy an API plan for manual use; the self-serve tiers are cheaper for a person clicking through the interface.

Watch the monthly credit expiry

The single most important line in MakeUGC's terms for budgeting is that credits reset monthly on most plans. Unused credits do not roll over, so a plan sized for your busiest month quietly wastes money in your slower ones. If your output is uneven, it is often cheaper to sit on a smaller plan and buy add-on credits in a heavy month than to carry a big plan you only fully use occasionally. Estimate your steady-state weekly output, size the plan to that, and treat spikes with top-ups.

Is MakeUGC worth the price?

For a script-first team that wants a large avatar library, a built-in editor, and exports up to 4K, MakeUGC is reasonably priced and capable. The honest caveats, drawn from public reviews rather than the vendor, are that credits expire monthly, longer scripts can show lip-sync drift, and some users report billing friction after cancelling. None of that is disqualifying, but it is worth knowing before you prepay a year.

The bigger question is workflow. MakeUGC expects you to write the script and pick the avatar yourself, which is fine if you already know your angle. If the hard part for you is deciding what the ad should say, a URL-first tool removes that step: paste a product link and get the angle, the hook, and the creator chosen for you. That is the wedge behind our MakeUGC alternative, which starts at $82 a month on simple plans rather than a credit balance, and it is why teams that want to test many concepts fast often prefer generating from a link. Once your creative pipeline is handled, you can hand the day-to-day bidding and budget shuffling to an automated marketing system and spend your time on the offer instead.

Every MakeUGC plan card says "the lowest cost per credit"

MakeUGC's Platform tab shows three paid plans, and the same line appears in the feature list of all three: "The lowest cost per credit". On Pro it comes with a "3X CHEAPER" badge attached. Three plans on one page cannot each be the lowest, so it is worth doing the division yourself.

PlanPriceList priceCredits / moCost per credit
Start up$59$8950011.8 cents
Growth$79$1191,0007.9 cents
Pro$149$1492,0007.45 cents
API Starter$99$1492,0004.95 cents
API Pro$299$4496,0004.98 cents

Start up carries the claim and is the most expensive per credit on the platform ladder, by 58 percent against Pro. This is not unique to MakeUGC. Higgsfield prints "Lowest cost per credit" on all three of its cards too, where the entry tier costs 2.1 times what the top tier does per credit. It appears to be a category habit rather than one company's slip, and the practical response is the same either way: ignore the superlative and divide the price by the credits.

MakeUGC API credits cost 34 percent less than app credits

The most useful number on MakeUGC's pricing page sits on the tab most buyers never open. Platform Pro is $149 for 2,000 credits, which is 7.45 cents each. API Starter is $99 for the same 2,000 credits, which is 4.95 cents. Same company, same credit count, 34 percent cheaper on the developer tab, and API Pro holds that rate at 4.98 cents across 6,000 credits.

It is not a straight upgrade. The API tier lists 500+ AI creators against the platform's 1,000+, and it drops the ad toolkit and the interface you would use to click through a batch by hand. But if any part of your workflow is programmatic, price the API tab before you size a platform plan. This is the reverse of the pattern at TopView, where the best value plan is the one locked out of the API entirely.

The entry plan lists a feature and then excludes it

Read the Start up card top to bottom and it contradicts itself. Its feature list includes "Seedance 2.5 Unlimited". A few lines further down the same card prints a heading, "Unlimited unavailable:", and beneath it the four offers the plan does not include, one of which is 30-day Seedance 2.5.

Growth is a partial version of the same thing: its block is headed "Unlimited available in 2K" but only 7-day Nano Banana 2 carries the Unlimited marker, and the other three do not. Only Pro carries all four, at 4K. The honest reading is that if Unlimited is the reason you are shopping, MakeUGC's entry price is $149 rather than the $59 on the front of the page. We compared this fencing against a rival that does the same thing in our MakeUGC vs Higgsfield breakdown, and audited the whole category's use of the word in our guide to unlimited AI video generator plans.

How MakeUGC pricing compares

Against the wider field, MakeUGC sits in the middle. It undercuts premium human services and pricier avatar tools at the entry tier, while credit metering makes the true cost harder to predict than a flat plan. If you want a side-by-side of the main AI UGC tools and where each one wins, our roundup of the best AI UGC video ad generators lays out the tradeoffs, and the general cost of UGC ads guide puts these prices next to hiring real creators. The closest direct comparison is Arcads pricing, which bills per video rather than per credit, and what every AI UGC tool costs normalises the whole category onto the same footing. Whichever tool you choose, judge it on cost per winning ad, not cost per render, because a cheap video that never converts is the most expensive one you can make.
